Today, I drove 3 hours to get to a class, just to have the professor leave a note on the classroom door saying that she wasn't coming. FML

Perhaps the professor msg'd the TA or dept secretary to put the cancellation sign on the classroom door?

Certainly possible, but professors usually have a way to make electronic announcements quickly and easily.

Yep, one time I paid $15 for an Uber each way to find a sticky note on the door about class being canceled. Fun.
