Today, my father-in-law insists that the tragedy in Orlando was a conspiracy started by President Obama and the Muslim faith as a whole, and no amount of pleading from me will get him to shut up and be a decent human being while I mourn with my hometown. FML.

At least he's not one of the asses who think the people who were killed deserved it. Lgbt or not, they were people.

the senselessness of the attack is only multiplied by the thousands of people and the media ignoring not only the fact that it was a hate crime and not simply an act of terrorism against humanity but are also ignoring the nationality of the majority of the victims. I was devastated when I found out about the attack and I haven't felt the same since. I'm lgbtqia+ and every day I lose more and more faith in people

I'm LGBTQIA+ as well. I'm getting really scared of the direction this is going for all of us. I live in the city with the pastor that, right after the shooting, preached that he was thankful for it and that they should round us all up and set us before a firing squad.
