Surely that's illegal, right? Maybe call the police, say something like endangerment of children or something due to always being intoxicated. A few weeks in prison should help convince her to stop being a slob.
Pretty sure it counts as reckless endangerment of a minor, especially if the children are under a certain age. Or the case could certainly be argued, if not. Though, it seems like the best long term solution would be to move out and let granny be taken care of by her drug addict daughter and see how long she is calm about it... Though, if they're actually living with her because of money issues, that probably isn't possible.
Woah, wait. Pills AND alcohol?!? Stop her! Not even for the children! If your husband wants to keep his grandmother for long, you need to tell him that pills and alcohol can cause an overdose!
I say call the police. She's a danger to herself and others. Move out if you can, but if you can't you should keep telling granny about her druggie daughter needed to get out. Call the police for sure. She could hurt granny, the kids or herself.
