Even if that's your sense of humor or how you and your friends talk, you have to know when to shut up. Honors English would be a good time to do so. This would be a YDI though. The only thing you can really do is try not to repeat your mistake, I guess.

I did something similar in maths once. The teacher and I got to the same answer at the same time, and she quipped "great minds think alike" . She was not amused when I automatically answered "fools never differ". Whoops. The force of habit is strong in all of us, OP. :)
