So close, but yet so far

Today, I had to explain to a woman I didn't know that my husband was killed overseas. She replied, "I know exactly how you feel, my dog died last month." FML

Halloween

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.

I know how she feels, yesterday I couldn't find my shoes.

Some people just don't know what they're saying.

People get attached to different things and are affected by death differently. She most likely treasured her dog a lot more than a regular person would and wanted to make you feel a little better. This is a half FML in my view. Yes, in the sense that you lost someone but not when you're too blind to see the bigger picture. Like I said, different strokes for different folks.

oh wow. a dog. big deal

Anyone who said YDI can go to hell..

I'm pretty sure you stole this general idea from the Futurama episode Roswell That Ends Well.

I am sorry about your loss he is a hero for serving our country and I have so much respect for men like him. I know my words mean little but smile because I'm sure he would want you happy.

You should have punched that bitch in the face comparing a ******* animal to a soldier, let alone your husband, who died defending our country. I'm deployed to Afghanistan right now and comparing a pet to what we do is ******* disgusting and infuriating.

I can't believe the lack of respect... Sorry for your loss.
