I've been there OP. Mine even got in an argument with her friend about how we were not dating. I feel you. I ended up breaking up with her but you do what you feel is right and ask her why she did that. Best of luck!!
As long as she's happy to be with me in private, I could not care less if she's ashamed of me in public.
It's the other way around I'd have a problem with;)
