Development purgatory

Today, I have been working on making a video game for three years, I'm tired and I want to quit, but the sunk cost is too much and I can't let it go. FML

Take a break from it, there is no need to force yourself to make it while unhappy.

How far have you got to go? It might be worth looking at what needs to be done, coming up with a realistic timescale, and seeing if it is still achievable. If you decide to go ahead, plan some time off first to relax and recuperate. Then, make a timescale with realistic achievable goals. You will then know what is to be done and when.

Push through. It doesn't need to be perfect. Patch the bugs later. Just ship it. You will be so glad you did

Or you can read a bit about the "sunk cost fallacy" and then decide if you want to ship a subpar product or not.

Better to have something after 3 years than nothing
