Today, I got a nose piercing. I was asleep at the time in my backyard, and the piercer was a snake. FML

CoalRose tells us more.

Hey guys! OP here. Wasn't expecting this to post, so this was a pleasant surprise! Just made an account to give the follow up. :) The weather was really nice so I had decided to go out in the back to read and get some sun. Somewhere between reading and laying down I fell asleep. I'm not sure what really happened, but I'm assuming I startled it with a snore or batted at it in my sleep, because the next think I knew I woke up with searing pain in my nose and staring face to face with a snake. I'm fine, luckily, as the snake was just your household garden/garter snake! Unfortunately the piercing, bite, whatever you would like to call it is too off center to wear. :( But yeah! All your comments & puns have been his hilarious so far.

Obviously, because snakes hanging from one's nose is so hot right now in Aussie-land. Fashion, am I right, guys?

I thought the snake bite piercing was the lip

A snake bite piercing is two tongue piercings, one on each side of the tongue.

No snake bite piercings are one on each side of the lip. I've had multiple friends with them.

this is a train wreck, okay, #2 OP was pierced BY a snake. he/she didn't actually get a piercing for jewelery.

Two lip piercings is snake bites, sideways through the tip of the tongue is snake eyes and one on each side of the tongue is venom bites.

#13 - "Had"? Did they die from piercing or tattoo infections?

Well with all the new piercings that have come about maybe they changed it, cause it was sure called a snake bite when I got mine done, in my tongue.

@39 some people dont stay friends forever

Does the new meaning mean the snake bites you? I think this is the original meaning of a snake bite.

No, a snake bite is a type of piercing

Yes but the piercing is actually the newer meaning.

Oh god please give a follow up. I hope you're okay, at least not poisoned

Snakes are venomous, not poisonous :P but I'm sure OP is fine if they wrote an FML about it. Non-venomous snakes can give some nasty bites, too.

I'm totally fine! Was a clean through and through and it was just a household garter snake. It itches a bit but is otherwise fine. ^^

#60, most snakes are poisonous, but only some are venomous. Poisonous refers to getting sick when ingested.

I believe they meant poisoned in the sense of being ill from the venom, ie the venom poisoned them. You don't say you were "venomed".

I'm surprised he didn't give you snakebites XD

If herpes is free, is it still worth it?

#10's comment was clear sarcasm. No one would actually think a snake bite to the nose is "worth it" lol
