I'm sorry to have to say this but you should absolutely Not be driving if you are that tired. It is not safe and you or someone else might be the one ending up in a graveyard.
There's nothing wrong with saying this, you even said it rather politely. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration actually places tired driving as comparable to drunk driving. It actually makes sense, since it's all about slowed reaction time and impaired perception, which OP clearly demonstrated. If you can't even clearly identify your keys against a quarter, then you need to do something, ANYTHING other than proceed to drive that car. Its horribly inconvenient, but so is being dead or having to live with the fact that you killed/crippled someone for the rest of your life because you drove when you weren't fit to.
