I got fired as a nanny bc the mom's kids asked her to call me to read and sing them to sleep at night. I know how you feel, OP. Jealous asshats like that are the absolute worst and they always spin it to make us look bad on a reference.

Again, like a similar FML I read (above this one), if a boyfriend seeks another girl or finds her attractive or whatever, the girlfriend typically goes after the woman and not the boyfriend. The boyfriend is the one you need to be mad at, not the woman, especially if she did NOTHING wrong. I don't get girls' logic, although I am one myself lol.

You are so right I noticed that too and it irritates me, it's like they think their boyfriends are irresistible and every girls are falling at their feet when in fact it's the guys who chase other girls like crazy.

To be fair, guys do the exact same thing. It has nothing to do with gender really, people react that way because they still have feelings for their untrustworthy lover, and it's easier to put the blame on someone else - that way they won't feel stupid for continuing the relationship with them. In short, it's denial.

That's so true, but it also goes both ways. If they didn't know your SO was taken, that's one thing. But some people do actively go after people they know are in relationships and that is messed up. But regardless of who is after them, it's up to the person in the relationship not to cheat.

This is pure madness. First of all, why is she taking it out on YOU? Secondly, I'm all for polyamory and such, but how do the mother's "several" boyfriends look each other in the face knowing they all have their beefsticks wrapped in the same tortilla? Thirdly, why in front of the damn kids? I feel like the kids are really getting the short end of the deal here, even more so than you (in the long run, of course). Gawd.

Well idk why the guys do it. It's like a weird non-commitment thing.. But then she fires me cuz she's jealous. And I know the kids cried and grabbed me so I didn't leave, it was heartbreaking.

Yeah, I would be pretty disheartened. Children are precious, and she is extremely irresponsible and irrational all at the same time. In time, you will find someone who appreciates your work and care.

I definitely wouldn't use her as a reference if/when you're applying for another nanny job. She sounds like the type of person who would tell a potential employer not to hire you and make up bullshit reasons.
