Today, I gave a coworker a lift to the next town over town catch a train. When I picked him up, he was wasted, and halfway there he asked me to pull over so he could puke. He managed not to blow chunks, but crapped his pants in the process. He left a stain. FML

OP here, i did finally get the stain removed!! I think I went through 7 layers of shock when this all happened , but I couldn't kick him out of the truck. He was on his way to his mom's funeral. Thankfully I will leave that job before he returns from his travels. No awkward moments here, and I'll definitely be avoiding his calls. It definitely made me question doing so much for others but I'd do it again.

Another horrible installation of "Nice person loses a bit more faith in humanity". So sorry to read this. Nice gestures should never get this kind of horrible crap. Feel for you, OP. Don't let this stop you being you though!

Drive off and leave his ass on the side of the road. It's not that hard to do.

thats abit harsh, he was drunk because his mother passed away and he was grieving..

Ouch, a bit harshly judged. He wasn't dunk because his mom died, he was drunk because that's what he does. I've never seen him outside of work sober. I dont think i was a bad friend at all, notice I didn't leave him on the side of the road. I feel for him and I've supported him through months of his mom's hospital stays, shuttling him to and from airports and train stations. It's a terrible situation. If he has further family issues I will give him lifts, but I will no longer support his addiction. I don't want to clean up poop stains any longer and I don't want to suport his issues, if that makes my any shitty friend so be it. I'm shitty.

You're a better friend than I am, I would have left him, regardless of where he was going

Sorry to say that this likely won't be the last time you deal with these kind of situations, however you handled this the classy way and it shows that you're a good person....so keep that shit up! That being said, it shouldn't be out of the question to ask him to pay for steam cleaning.

Made an account just to comment on this. Sucks about your car but, you should have some idea if what the loss of a loved one does to people. Be a little bit more sensitive to his situation. His mom just died a few days ago. If I got that kind of news I would try to escape as far from reality as I could..
