Today, after not seeing my boyfriend for five weeks, he showed up unannounced in the middle of my twelve-hour shift. He was only able to stay a few hours, and I won't get to see him for another three weeks after this. FML

Or just assume that they are both busy, that she's not the side chick, that he's not an idiot, or that she should not skip out on work. Perhaps, OP, be happy that you got to see him at all.

I know exactly how you feel. My boyfriend works out of state for months and barely has time for me. Then when he comes home he also has a job so I don't get to see him. I feel like I'm dating my messaging app ?

nope no side chick here ive got 2 kids with him and hes a wonderful father. Hes active military and i wiuldnt trade him for the world! nor me to him. just because youve been the side chick doesnt always mean everyone else is. Shove it sweetheart

They're right. You did choose to date a military guy. I get that it's your FML but maybe leave everyone's butts alone? You did pick a relationship with a guy where you wouldn't see him for a long time. If he's murdering people or drilling oil or touring in a band or whatever you made the choice.
