Today, my son and daughter-in-law are both going to jail for the same crime. I’m recently retired but I’m now stuck raising their bratty 15 year-old and their new baby, who’s less than a year old. I’m nearly 70 years-old, I can’t do this shit anymore. I certainly can’t afford it on a pension. FML

If it’s a foster placement then you may be entitled to foster payments, depending on what the legislation is like in the UK. See if you can get legal advice to work out what benefits you’re entitled to if you’re raising the kids. If it genuinely, absolutely cannot work out financially, please know that as much as it will hurt, nobody is going to benefit from starving/exhausting yourself to run after two kids, and they may be better off with someone else.

its your home, your rules, a down to earth conversation might help with the teens attitude, they're likely traumatized losing both their parents at once, but that's no excuse to be mean and rude to the grandparent that's trying to help. good luck OP!
