Pesky kids

By no one - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - United States - Dallas

Today, my house caught on fire. The firefighters said that it was caused by a lit cigarette on the carpet. I don't smoke, but apparently my 13 year-old son does. FML

I'm a habitual smoker myself. Something about sucking long and hard on phallic objects really steams my clam, you know what I mean? Is that just me?

Looks like a certain 13 year old boy is going to work for the rest of his life to pay you back.

At least it didn't burn down?

Well atleast it probably will keep him from becoming a smoker, if not you have some other problems to deal with.

As sad as it is, the probable situation is the kid is going to get mad because his dad got 'pissed' that he burnt the house down... So the kid isn't going to quit smoking and, from this point, it's just going to get worse... Believe it or not, I've seen this happen to 5 different families that I, personally, know. And the kids only got worse. :(

That kid is hating the habit right now.

You should blame him, even though you allowed him to do that. 99.99999% your son's fault, 0.000005% your fault. 0.000005% other. Any way, Your life sucks. Confiscate cigarettes. Resist drugs. Shame on your son. SHAME!!

...I don't think you understand how percentages work. Most people stop counting at 100.

**** **** fuckity ****. You're right, it adds up to 100 :P 2pm on a Friday, my head isn't in a good place...ok I have no excuse. :(

I thought so( you don't have an excuse) thank you for noticing it does add to 100

Well it's not her fault she didn't know he was smoking read the FML over again and again and you'll understand

I'm sure if he is only 13 he hasn't been smoking long and could easily quit now. Try talk to him instead of just taking the smokes away.. Believe me just banning him and grounding him wont work!

What about beating him within an inch of his life? Too far? Or just the thing to make sure he remembers?

NoisyNykkii 10

Actually, beating him would be child abuse, BUT dropping him off a building with a rope tied to him isn't. Just make sure that he ends up 10-20 ft away from the ground. PS, OP, if the boy pees his pants, then make him walk around in public ;)

Kids these days! When I was 13 smoking seemed severely unappealing to me, not "cool". But then again I was always labeled "odd".

I'm the same way I don't smoke and I don't like alcohol (don't laugh I don't like the taste lol) and I don't do drugs, everyone picks on me about it but oh well *shrugs*

MilkMan - Let the morons pick on you while you live above it all. Good for you. No matter how obnoxious they get, just remember this - they'll be working for you someday.

Oh good, its the holier than thou goodie-goodie club. Yes, you're all so special.

Wow Downtime, don't be bitter cause we don't have the same killer vice as you.

186, Actually I have no vices, I just don't go around making unrealistic statements like "you'll all be working for me someday". If people smoke/drink/whatever then yes its a stupid activity that they have no justification for doing, but theres no need to go acting like the fact that you don't smoke makes you a special person.

I believe a spanking is in order. May I suggest an old fashioned riding crop?
