Cloth ears

Today, my hubby asked me what we were doing for dinner. He'd already asked me twice and each time I responded, he said, "Sounds good." He has no idea why I feel like he doesn't listen to me. He's been doing this shit for 12 years. FML

well next time say something like we're having hot cat food or dog biscuits and then actually serve him that and then when he asks why say you've asked what was for dinner three times and you said it sounds good. but seriously some men need to decompress after work it's not an excuse or anything against women but at the same time men need to acknowledge this issue and still acknowledge their significant other during the decompressing

Some of us men get in low-brain mode after work...then all we want is to sit down, eat, and watch TV. It's not against you. We just need to unwind by turning off our brain for a while.

I have conversations with people all the time where I almost immediately forget what was said. I tell people all the time you may be on windows 10 but I am still on 98 and if you talk to me without my full attention there's a good chance I will space what you said.

My answer would os "same thing it was last time you asked." Or "are you asking again because you're hoping the answer has changed?" Or "still xxx, but if you ask again, it'll be zzz."

Maybe he listens but has an extremely poor memory.

Sorry OP, my significant other does this sometimes too. You have to look at the bright side. You can tell him a story twice or three times on different occasions and its like the first time. Its possible that he might have too much on his mind to be fully attentive all the time.
