Today, my abusive ex-boyfriend contacted me for the first time in almost 14 years, to apologize for how he treated me while we were still together. It brought back all the old memories that I thought I had finally overcome, and made me have such a bad panic attack that I had to go to the hospital. FML

Today, I was nearly T-Boned at a stop sign by my ex-roommate. I moved 10 miles away to get away from her after her midlife crisis, and her losing the house, and now avoid her end of town. She now works outside my apartment. FML

Today, I went for a job interview. I'd resigned at my current job and applied for somewhere closer to home. They hired me on the spot, and as I was leaving, I saw my abusive ex-boyfriend working in the store. So… now I'm working alongside my ex who abused me for two years. Time to apply elsewhere. FML

Today, I finally got the courage to leave my controlling and manipulative ex. He took it well. And by "took it well", I mean he camped out my doorstep, held some of my belongings hostage, and tried to blackmail me into staying with him. FML

Today, I went to my boyfriend's apartment to break up with him since he's always busy, and I haven't seen or spoke to him in almost 2 months. I arrived to find out from his landlord that he'd moved out 3 weeks ago, leaving a note saying that we were over. FML

It might be wise to start with a restraining order. If he stalked you down to your apartment and showed up, there are other issues going on and you need to continue to look out for yourself.
