Today, every time I practice my synthesizer, without fail, my stepmom decides to make as much noise as humanly possible. Slamming doors, stomping around in her loudest heels, dropping weights, screaming, you name it. I can hear her through my noise cancelling headphones and I can’t focus. FML

Is the synth not in your bedroom? Can you not shut the door? If not, I suggest you move it there - if she doesn’t know when you’re practicing, she can’t know when to do her sabotage bullshit. Also, this may sound crazy, but try putting in earplugs under your noise-canceling headphones. You’ll have to turn the headphones up to the max, but you’ll still be able to hear your music, and it’ll help to shut out the outside world. You could also try (calmly) talking to her, but I honestly don’t see that working out based on what you wrote. She sounds passive aggressive and it’ll probably make the situation worse (either through gaslighting or nitpicking). Good luck, OP. And awesome on learning the synth!

She sounds like she is having significant issues with your life choices and is lashing out. OP, you should try for counseling. This is just an opinion.
