Today I was happy my mom wanted to help me cook by cleaning root vegetables. Until I discovered that our definitions of “clean” were quite different: For her it means “having been scrubbed some”. For me it means “actually being free of sand”. FML

Today, after almost a year of no steady work, I struggled to get anything done once my 7-months pregnant girlfriend woke up at noon. Big booming voice issues

Today, like the rest of the past year, I had to hear my roommate as he works as tech support from home. The man does not have an "inside voice" but echoes across multiple floors like a tuba, as he debugs people's software issues over the phone. Talking to him about it only makes him angry… and louder. FML
