Today, after complaining to the administration about my roommate, I finally got switched. As I went into the room to meet my new roommate, I found out he was my old roommate's brother. They are exactly the same, and I'm not allowed to switch again. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I found out the guy that my girlfriend introduced as her brother was actually her boyfriend. I also paid for him to come out with us to the movies several times. FML
Today, I found myself sneaking into my apartment to avoid the old lady who lives next to me. Funnily enough, I moved into my own apartment because I was tired of sneaking into it to avoid my mom, who lived with me. FML
Today, I realized I can tell which one of my 6 roommates has taken a dump, just based on the smell emanating from the toilet. FML
Today, I showed up for my first shift in my new night job; I now work at an apartment complex during the day and at a gas station at night. It turns out that our biggest problem tenant in the former happens to be my boss in the latter. FML
Today, after cleaning the whole house, I still couldn't get rid of the foul smell. Later, my roommate revealed his new place to "stash and dry" his socks: The ventilation ducts. FML
Today, I woke up to my apartment filled with smoke, fire alarms blaring. My roommate set my kitchen on fire while making hot dogs. This is the fourth time this has happened. FML
Today, I found out that my dad is actually my uncle, and vice-versa. FML
Today, I realized the sweet, sensitive girl I was talking to on a dating site was actually my brother trolling me for fun. FML
Today, I woke up next to my roommate staring in horror. She said I was singing and farting in my sleep. Loudly. FML
Today, the couple with three noisy toddlers in the apartment above mine finally moved out. A couple with a non-stop crying newborn moved in. FML

This is one of those times when you go back to housing department administration and say, "Look. Switching out my horrible old roommate with his equally horrible BROTHER, a person who was raised in the same family and behaves and responds to others in the exact same way as his sibling, doesn't seem to meet the spirit of the option this university gives to students to switch roommates once a year. If the newly assigned roommate was horrible, but in different ways than the roommate I just switched from, that would be one thing. But, this switch essentially just gave me back a clone of the roommate from which I was trying to escape. What can you do to help me out? I'm begging you."

Drives me nuts how comments simply disappear on this site without a trace. Anyway.......go back to the housing department and tell them that this switch is unacceptable. A roommate raised in the same family as your previous roommate and who behaves and responds in ways that caused you to want to switch roommates in the first place is no solution at all. This switch doesn't even begin to satisfy the spirit of the "one switch" policy.

i would ask the old roommate to switch into the room you have now so the brothers can be together.. and youre off the hook is the only way i can think of a way out of that one
