Yeah? I heard cold sores/fever blister are a type of herpes. I'm not sure the difference but know there are two types- oral and genital. FYL if you have one or both. I hear it's painful and FOREVER in your system.

cold sores aret only from herpes. its just a bacterial thing. some people get it from eating stuff that theyre allergic to. like, i got one on my lip cause i ate something with limes in it cause im allergic to limes.

You can get genital herpes (type 2) from cold sores (type 1), but they are different strands of the virus itself. Even if you get genital herpes from oral, it's not nearly as bad as having type 1. If you receive oral from someone who gets cold sores, most likely that will be your only breakout. Type 2 gives you reoccurring breakouts.

Well chickenpox is herpes simplex virus too. Does that mean you can get herpes if one of the pox is on your crotch? NO. Same with cold sores. But you can get cold sores from someone who has a coldsore if you drink after them when they have one or kiss them.

Paigeyk - again, no. Chicken pox is caused by the varicella virus which is in the herpes family of viruses, as is herpes simplex. But they are completely different. Chicken pox is NOT caused by herpes simplex. Don't spread false information, because chances are someone here will believe it.

Chickenpox isn't caused by herpes simplex. It's caused by the varicella zoster virus. Shingles is caused by herpes zoster. They belong to the same viral subfamily, but they're not the same. Herpes simplex types 1 and 2 can cause outbreaks on the lips and the genitals, as well as any other part of your body. So you can get genital herpes from oral sex if the person is infected.

That is the absolute truth, you can get herpes from a toilet seat as well as a vast majority of STD's, most often when you get on it before the other guys gets off.
