Today, I walked around town by myself for four hours because I was too ashamed to tell my parents that I have no friends willing to spend time with me. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, it's again one of many times my mom dropped me off at the mall to hang out with friends. Since I have no friends, I shop by myself and always tell her I had "so much fun". FML
Today, I realized the only reason my mom trusts me to stay home alone for long periods of time is because I don't have enough friends to throw a party. FML
Today, I got into a fight with my mom, and stormed out of the house. I walked two blocks before realizing that I have no place to go, and no friends to vent to. FML

Today, I went on a field trip with some people from school. I'm currently confined to a wheelchair, so I had to rely on my sister to get around. She eventually went off with her friends, assuming that the people nearby would keep me company. Five minutes later, they'd all left me. FML
Today, I went to visit my parents after 4 years of not seeing them. They'd moved without telling me. FML

Muzy, I doubt you're important enough for that... And if you were, the fact that you have an internet connection means that, in times of war, if someone somewhere really wanted to, they could find out more than torturing a friend would get them.

Unless its 2:00AM where all the homeless psychos are out looking for women to ambush, I agree with you. OP, even if it's just a cashier or a clerk, make a conversation. Even if you don't know the person, or don't want to be friends with them, you and the other person might end up having an enjoyable talk together!

I'm in the same boat as OP. in the summer my friends leave for their cabins or the 3 months. It's annoying. The only good thing this year is I'm at a camp as a counselor make a nice sum of money. Haha.
