Today, my wife knows tattoos are a huge turnoff for me. She decided the best way to change my mind about them would be to get one. Across her neck. Of our dog's name. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I realized my husband and I have been fighting a lot lately, so to show him how much I care, I got a tattoo with his name on it. He hates it. FML
Today, I decided I was going to dump my needy girlfriend. I was about to break the news when she stopped me. She showed me her new tattoo she had gotten. Our names, surrounded by a love heart spread across her back. She reckons I should get a matching one. FML
Ankle monitor
Today, despite my warnings and knowing I hate them, my wife got a trashy tattoo of an eye on her ankle, like she’s Count Olaf. How is she going to get a job with that thing? FML
Jumping the gun
Today, I got a tattoo with my boyfriend's name on it. As we're coworkers, I showed it to him thinking he’d love it. He told me he couldn’t continue the relationship anymore since he realized he wants to fix things with his wife. Three hours of pain and 2 years down the drain. FML
Branded
Today, my girlfriend keeps asking me to get her name tattooed on my chest. At first I thought she wanted a romantic gesture, but now she asks me to do it so often, it’s starting to feel more like she wants to cattle brand me as my owner. FML
Today, I found out that my wife is leaving me for a tattoo artist. I was in rehab and she met him getting a tattoo as a surprise for me. FML
Today, I got my first tattoo. It was a surprise for my fiancé: our names together over a heart. I went home but before I could show him, he said we had to have a "talk." So now my ex's name is tattooed on my back. The kicker? Turns out I'm allergic to the ink. FML
Today, I went to get a tattoo of my girlfriend's name to surprise her. Halfway through the tattooing, she called and broke up with me. FML
Keep in touch
Today on my birthday, my wife thought it would be a good idea to get matching tattoos. Our tattoo artist happened to be her ex-boyfriend. I sat and listened to them talk about their relationship and how they should stay in touch. FML
Today, my girlfriend of 7 months broke up with me because I refused to get her name tattooed on my chest. FML

Tattoos can be great, but that's just plain silly...

I'm wondering what the dog's name is. Does she have the name "Fido" across her neck or something similar or is it something a little more tasteful?

Accept her as she is. While I think the dog's name is a strange thing to get a tattoo of I don't really see it as your life being ****** since it shouldn't affect you... Unless you're an idiot.

Stop being such a pussy. Plus, if you really love her, that little stunt really shouldn't bother you.

First off, it's not a cat tattoo. Second, it's not a stunt to get a tattoo, but more like an activity.

#119 what is your point? The user in no way indicated that they thought the tattoo was of a cat; they were calling the OP a pussy for getting so worked up over a tattoo. "To pull a stunt" is an idiomatic expression that means to do something deceptively, so their use of the expression was appropriate in this context.

OP, it's her body her choice, yes ; but that's a fuct up thing to do to "change someone's mind". A lot of people are commenting on the rat itself but since you haven't indicated size it may actually be a nice tat just something that is disagreeable to you.

It sucks that she got a tattoo when she knows you hate them. However, if you really love her, you should look past it.

Get over yourself. She got a tattoo. It is her body. She didn't force you to get one. She's not forcing you to like it either. Your opinions on tattoos clearly differ, and I'm sure that you opinions matters to her. However, that doesn't mean that she has to be subservient to you and your opinions. Calm the **** down, Chauvinist, it's just ink. It doesn't change who either of you are.

I don't think this makes him a chauvinist at all. Everyone has their preferences, and when you're in a relationship, you have to be willing to compromise. Most of us can't really help what turns us on and turns us off. The OP's wife knew how he felt about tattoos, and she got one anyway. I think that's disrespectful, and I'd say the same if it was the male who got the tattoo and the female that was turned off by them. Things like tattoos are pretty much permanent. If you get a different haircut and your SO hates it (or you hate it), it will grow out eventually. But a tattoo isn't just going to "grow out." I can totally understand why the OP is upset.

I don't think the word "chauvinist" means what you think it means. Hint: it's not having a problem with the choices or attitudes of one individual female.

It's her body, and as an adult she can do what she wants with it. How is it not disrespectful of him to expect her to do what he wants her to with her body?

Just send her my way.
