While I agree that the manner in which they are all going ask about who Banksy is, and the abundance of these same posts, is going to be depressing, I think it's a little harsh to compare them to cave-dwellers lacking education just because they do not yet know who Banksy is. I mean I didn't know who Banksy was until today; I had to look him up on wikipedia. I do agree though that it shows that they don't know how to search for these things which is a few letters and an enter button away, though, which is a bad mind-set to have.

Here you lazy fucknuggets: Bansky is a British street graffiti artist, director, and painter. The point of the FML is that saying she had a Bansky is like saying she had a DaVinci--both highly unlikely, and probably a copy. If someone said they had a Michelangelo peice and you voiced your doubts, and they broke up with you, then you would be pissed too.

I doubt she had one. There are so many fakes in the world of Art. It is very unlikely that she had one. Op could have said something like "I doubt that it is a real piece from Banksy, but I will stick by your side because you never know. If it turns out to be fake I just want you to know that I will still love you even if you get pissed and tell me that it won't make his piece non forgery."

See I agree about letting the small stuff slide when in a relationship, but I don't consider someone being unable to have a reasonable conversation about possibly being wrong about something so unimportant to be something small. I shouldn't have to patronize someone who I consider an equal by agreeing with statements that are provably factually false, because they are not mature enough to handle an adult discussion about it. I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells because someone is so insecure that they can't ever be wrong without a meltdown, and who use tantrums to bully their way into winning debates and disagreements when they don't have any good arguments to make. How do you respect someone like that? How do you handle discussions about important issues, where the decisions matter greatly, when you know the person you're making them with is unreasonable and likely to fly off the handle if they don't get their way? If someone has a habit you dislike, a belief that you don't agree with (but isn't a huge moral issue for you or a matter of plain fact), likes movies or music you don't like, etc.- that's small stuff. Someone being immature and unable to process new information is a deal breaker.
