Today, while working in my pharmacy, a patient told me that he sometimes wants to jump the counter and skin me alive. He has no more refills, and his doctor is out of town for the week. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, one of my customers told me he was going to kill himself when I explained to him that I wasn't going to be able to deliver him the gallon of milk he wanted. I work in a pharmacy, dispensing medication. FML
Customers from hell
Today, while stocking the shelves, a customer demanded I ring up his stuff. I’m not a cashier and therefore don’t have a login code to do so, so I told him as such. He then pulled out a knife and threatened to stab me if I didn’t ring him up. I’m currently writing this from the ER. FML
Entitled
Today, where I work at a pharmacy, we were short staffed and running 4 hours behind. A lady came to drop off a new prescription. When I explained to her the wait time, she called the patient. I heard, "No, they don't look busy." Like, really? FML
Today, I went to my regular pharmacist of three months, and since I've always seen him on a crutch, I asked him how his leg was. His response, "Still missing". FML
Today, after over a week of trying to get a hold of my doctor for a much-needed medication refill, he finally called back. Too bad my phone got unplugged and died in the middle of the night. FML
Best prepared
Today, I called in a refill for a vital medication that I've been on since a couple of decades ago. No big deal since I called a week in advance. I then received a notification that the specific medication is out of stock at the moment, and they won't have another set ready for four days. FML
Gimme the drugs
Today, I scrambled to get out of work on the dot to go to a special pharmacy that closes at 5 pm an hour away. I arrived at 4:58. Upon reaching the door, one of the employees came and locked it in my face. Apparently, her going home early was more important than me getting my medication. FML
Today, my boss called and yelled at me because he said I was "spotted" out after I called off sick. I was out getting the medicine the doctor had just prescribed me. FML
Asshole
Today, someone at work took my delicate medication out of the fridge to make room for their lunch. Now my medication has expired. FML
Today, at work in a call center, I went into my locker to get my pain pills from a recent surgery. When I opened the bottle, half my pills spread all over the floor. My boss walked by and said, "I knew it!" FML

Skin him first, then put him on display for any other would-be troublemakers.

1 - OP can't give prescriptions to patients because he's/she's not a doctor. He/she even states that the patient's doctor isn't there. Before rushing to be first, at least read the FML properly.

Placebo.

Sometimes pharmacists can give refills if the patient has been on the medication long enough and it's non narcotic.
ramboman19 8
Yes, but they would only be in a small amount. Until his physician returns.

Lock that guy up...people like that are dangerous

Depending on the drug, yes you can give refills--even a full months worth(think birth control where the pack cannot be broken). They can at least give a few days worth and wait for the doctor to approve the full amount.

I'll put your skeleton on display, so future generations know how NOT to have your unfortunate bone structure.

Contact the local police and make sure your coworkers know about his threats.

You might wanna carry some pepper spray at work for the next week. Or better yet, a taser.
ShroomsOnAcid 17
It depends on their state, I have a teaser but it's illegal to carry in my state, which is bullshit. I can still keep it in the trunk of my car though, which pretty much renders it useless.
THE_A_TEEN 28
A teaser you say? Sounds sexy
ShroomsOnAcid 17
That's right, not only does it defend me against the attack by mesmerizing the perpetrator, but also gains me a few sexual favors as a cherry on top.

And this is why i carry a gun!!! There are just way TOO many freaks out there!
jellitonoctopus 19
you can't defend yourself without using a lethal weapon?
ShroomsOnAcid 17
Not against someone WITH a lethal weapon. If everyone carried guns criminals would think twice before pulling theirs out on a random person. Right now they know that the average person is unarmed (completely unprotected, in some states).

People like you are the reason the gun violence is high in America. Thank god i live in a country where civilians can't carry guns. on-topic: Isn't it possible for you to get a bulletproof window infront of your desk. That way you can still give medications to patients but the chances of you being attacked will decrease.
ScuseMePrincess 2
41, with all due respect, you are a moron. Armed citizens are a crime deterrent. If guns are criminalized, only criminals will have guns. When the law-abiding citizens can't defend themselves, the criminals can prey on them at will. America has a high rate of gun crime because we have such a high population and a large number of guns already in circulation. You know who commits all those gun crimes? The criminals! However, armed citizens defend their lives and prevent crimes daily simply by carrying guns.
auriane_fml 19
@ 57 What has any of this got to do with my comment. All I said is that people like 13 shouldn't carry guns. It doesn't matter if he uses it for defence or criminal activities. If someone uses a gun to defend himself does that make them a criminal too? No, it doesn't but the gun violence will go up either way. You already said it yourself. The reason the gun violence is high is, because of the amount of people that carry guns. Where I live the gun violence isn't that high, because its illegal to own a gun. You don't need a gun to defend yourself. There are alot of other ways to do that. You're saying that the more people live in a country the higher the gun violence. How come China isn't on top of the list then? The only reason people like you want guns is, because you want to take the law in your own hands. Nothing good has ever come from that. Putting with all due respect infront of an insult doesn't make it any nicer. Next time don't insult another person or leave the with al due respect part away.
ScuseMePrincess 2
The reason why China doesn't have a lot of gun crime is because there are not a lot of guns in circulation. China is a totalitarian state. The easiest way for a government to subjugate its people is by disarming them. Look at Mao's China, the USSR, and Nazi Germany. And there are other ways to defend yourself from someone with a gun? Please. That is ridiculous. Of course, you've probably never seen a gun in person, so it's not your fault you're ignorant. A gun is an equalizer for the common individual against a predatory criminal or an oppressive regime. Owning a gun for self-defense isn't about taking the law into your own hands- it's about taking your LIFE into your own hands.
ShroomsOnAcid 17
That's a dumb way to think about it because you're not taking into account the fact that criminals will always find a way to obtain weapons, legally or illegally. Whether people are allowed to carry guns affects only whether the average civilian will have a way to protect themselves. This works in 2 ways - 1, obviously they can use the gun if they need to, and 2, it acts as a deterrent for would be criminals, since they know everybody's got a gun.

Are you sure the desire to skin you alive is anything to do with his medicine, or does he just dislike you? :p
