Today, my 19-year-old son told me his girlfriend is pregnant, and was diagnosed with an STD. He's sure that he's the father. He's also sure he doesn't have an STD, because he's a virgin. I had to give him the sex talk that his school never did, as well as explain to him that his girlfriend is a cheater. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Whaaaaat?
Today, my 18 year-old son learned that just because his girlfriend was on top doesn't mean gravity will prevent her from becoming pregnant. FML
Sex ed is broken
Today, I went with my son to a conference about sexual education at his high school. I guess it was all too late, because among the attendees I saw three girls from the same high school who were already pregnant. They aren't even 18. FML
Because of him
Today, I broke up with my boyfriend. I also found out I have an STD. I was clean before we dated. FML
Paternity test
Today, my girlfriend told her parents that she's pregnant. We have never even come close to having sex, but she told them I'm the father. Not only is my girlfriend cheating on me, but her father now wants me dead. FML
Wrap it up
Today, I found out that my boyfriend cheated on me by testing myself for STIs/STDs and got a positive result for chlamydia. FML
Bad grandparenting
Today, my youngest, the 17 year-old, told me she’s pregnant. That makes it official: despite all my warnings about safe sex, all three of my daughters got pregnant before the age of 18. FML
Today, I took my transfer student, who I am hosting for her year of study in America, to the doctor. It turns out that she is pregnant, and my teenage son is the father. FML
Today, I picked my 12-year-old daughter up from school after her first sexual education lecture. She burst into tears on the way home explaining her fears of being pregnant with her boyfriend's child. As if that doesn't sound bad enough, I've met her boyfriend before. He is imaginary. FML
Good news
Today, I told to my son that I'm pregnant. After I'd told him, he looked up and yelled, "Fuck this shit!" and walked out of the room. My son is nine years-old. FML
Today, when my doctor told me I had symptoms of an STD, I had to repeatedly try to convince her I'm a 28-year-old virgin. Even as I left she still didn't believe me. FML

Why do parents expect the school to do everything for them? It's not their job to teach your child about sex so YDI

Well, I'm glad a kid that stupid isn't breeding, but its your job to parent your children, not the schools system's.

It's your job to do that. I didn't get the talk till age 12 and by that time I had been molested three times by a cousin from age 5-8. It's important to talk about it as the child grows. From good/bad touch as a kid, hormones/period at puberty and the condom and all that at the teenage stage.

I agree with everyone, YDI. Even if schools give sex talks, it's still the parents job to make sure it is properly explained, you should have done that practically a decade ago.

The sex talk needs to be given BEFORE the child is allowed to start dating.

My guy and I had the talk before we got a chance to be alone, yes. My school had a human relations class. An actual honest look at puberty and the reproductive system, STDs and birth control. And how babies are made. Amid immature 12 and 13 years olds giggling every 5 minutes. And the "baby, think it over!" Fake baby project. I learned a lot in that class: I learned not to have kids until I can walk down stairs without breaking my leg carrying a sack of flour in a baby jumper and a wig. The baby was just fine! I needed orthopedic surgery!

You waited this long to have the sex talk with your son? Shouldn't you have given your son the sex talk a long time ago, like during puberty? You can't expect the school to parent your son for you. Ydi because he's your son that you failed to teach these things to.

Who the hell needs the sex talk at this time and age? Oh yea kids with overprotective parents. OP I'm 16 and a virgin(pitiful right) and know more ahout sex than your son. At least he shoud know how the process of impregnation is is done. If he realy was that naive no wonder his GF cheated on him.

Even if it's not the parents job, it's odd the kid didn't know. My parents never gave me one.

What i don't understand... Well sure you should have given him "the talk" but even without sex ed shouldn't he have learned about the reproductive system in biology? I mean thats ******* ridiculous i knew sex ed in the states was shite but that's beyond that! I never got the talk, i was told from the start when i was young how things work, not some nonsense about bees, gods or birds.
