First of all respect to you and your family for your lost I personally don't see anything wrong with this, that being said my families wakes often include a couple not to get drunk but to celebrate their life, often their fav drink but if your family don't do this then I can see this being upsetting.

Had to read the comments to learn what a wake was but now that I know I must say I am sorry about your mother and you should dump your girl friend.
