Why were you having sex in the room you were, seemingly, sharing with her? Especially when she was just in the bathroom.. O.o At least do so when she leaves the hotel room.. Not when she could walk in within a few minutes..

This sounds like quickie gone bad. Expecting mom to be in the shower long enough to knock a piece off. And well it just doesn't happen. I've Been there myself.
