Today, my 70-year-old grandmother held a celebration over officially having divorced my grandfather. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.

Never too late to be happy I guess

Just because you're old doesn't mean you lose the concept of what/who makes you happy

I don't see how this is exactly a fml moment for you OP. I can see it being a FML if your family is religious / against divorce or you didn't want them to divorce. Need some more details because this was about the celebration part that is ******* with your life. Did something happen during the celebration? There are reasons why your grandmother divorced your grandfather. Why not let her celebrate instead of choosing to still be upset with whatever went wrong that caused her to make that choice? I think that is a better alternative to negative feelings but everyone is different.

Just be glad it's not your parents...

I don't see what the FML is.

I feel sorry for your grandpa, can't be nice to hear abot that when you have had the same family and friends for many years.

How awesome is your grandmother

can I join the party? wait... nevermind.. sounds like it wld suck.

Been there, OP. My grandparents got divorced in their 60s.

my great grandmother did the same thing, i wanna say she was 89ish and lets just say that it was the most rational idea she was having at the time. my god the crazy sh*t she did

That sucks OP, when I think of old couples I think that nothing could pull them apart.

One of my friends has a gay grandpa. He was married twice and had children with both women before deciding he like men
