Today, I confronted my girlfriend after catching her cheating on me. After she finished crying, she had the brass balls to say she'd understand if I needed a couple of weeks to forgive her, and asked me for bus fare so she could go tell the other guy they could only be friends now. FML
Today, my first time meeting my girlfriend's dad ended with him chasing me from his house and trying to hit me with a baseball bat. FML
Today, I confessed to cheating to my girlfriend. She decided to go up to the girl and ask her about it. The girl denied it and said she didn't even know me. My girlfriend walked up to me, called me a liar and punched me in the face. FML
Today, the girl I went on an awkward date with two weeks ago showed up at university and started smashing my car with a bat. She then broke down in tears and alternated between declaring her love, and cussing me out for "cheating" on her. FML
Today, I caught my girlfriend cheating on me. Now she's threatening to kill herself if I don't forgive her. FML
Today, I was sneaking over to my girlfriend's house. I sent her mother a text message thinking it was my girlfriend saying "There's a stalker coming in to make you his play mate ;]" Unfortunately when I got to her window I was greeted by her dad with a bat. FML
Today, my girlfriend dumped me for someone else. An hour earlier I had just gotten permission from her dad to propose. FML
Today, I learned my girlfriend was cheating on me. After giving her a second chance and meeting her parents for the first time, her father said at the dinner table, "I like the other guy better." FML

Today, I came up with the idea of pranking my girlfriend by telling her that I knew she was cheating on me. She then apologized. FML

OP, I hope your mother has her pistol ready. Cheater or not - if anyone ever showed up with a bat to harm my son, they would be in for some damage. I understand his daughter was hurt. But a bat? Really? Are we in 1957 still? That's trashy and won't solve anything. If his daughter herself condoned that, then she has some serious self evaluation to do. I can't see how cheating warrants physical beating. Under no circumstances does OP deserve to be harmed physically.

Well as much as I think you're a dick for cheating, her dad's reaction is really over the top. You can kill or seriously injure someone with a bat. Then maybe he just wanted to give you a scare to teach you a lesson. You writing this FML let me think that you're still alive and still have use of both hands :)

Wouah, I would be afraid to date someone were you live, if it seems normal to threaten your daughter's boyfriend with a bat if he cheated on her. So is it like: - Daddy, he forgot our anniversary !: Dad shows up with his fists - Daddy, he cheated on me !: Dad shows up with a bat - Daddy, he left me (for another woman)! : Dad shows up with a showel (and a gun) ???? Conclusion: OP, find an orphan girlfriend next time (but try not to cheat this time).

Consider yourself lucky if you were my boyfriend my dad would've shown up with a machete. Ain't nobody **** with a Portuguese man and his precious daughter. So you deserved anything that did or didn't happen with that bat. You cheating bastard and may this be a lesson that you shouldn't mess around with a father's daughter.

If I were your (now ex) girlfriend, I would've been back with a baseball bat myself ! I don't see the point of involving your parents in relationships problems. For being a cheater you deserve getting your kneecaps bashed with a frying pan :D

You didn't respect her by cheating. The father was righteously angry. Give HIS daughter an STD or break her heart will you? I hope your happy with the one you cheated on her with, the father likely will keep the bat nearby if you show up again.
