my friends parents invite us all over for their daughters birthday to hang out and remember her, when she died 7 years ago, they do it every year.

My neighbor does the same thing for her son but we all have to pretend her son just hasn't shown up yet...so yeah it could be worse.

To everyone saying "Be more respectful" and "Think of the parents". How about thinking of everybody else as well? You think everybody wants to be reminded of this every year? Time to move on. And OP, quit letting other people dictate your life.

1) I think that if it was a "party" then that's the creepiest thing I've ever heard! Were there like balloons, cake, party hats etc? =/ 2) If it was more of a get together to remember them then I guess it's ok...
