my friends parents invite us all over for their daughters birthday to hang out and remember her, when she died 7 years ago, they do it every year.

can someone please explain how that's disrespectful... is it sad yes it it but it's been 9 years their kids wouldn't want to see their parents constantly grieving especially for nine years... that's 3,287 days or 78,888 hours or 4,733,280 min. that's a long time...you have to move on and live your life it's ok to think about em but having a party is a little to far
