Today, I finished my SAT and was feeling pretty good about it. I decided to turn on my phone, since it was on silent. As the guy was collecting our tests, my phone vibrated a little. My score was cancelled. It was a text from my mom reminding me to turn off my phone. FML

Why would you ever, ever turn your phone on when still in the room? You deserve that twice.

you deserve that sooo much...they repeat over and over again DO NOT TURN YOUR PHONE ON UNTIL YOU LEAVE THE BUILDING, is it that hard to be away from your cell phone for two seconds in order to take one of the most important tests of your academic life??

That's stupid. I really don't see what the big deal is especially if the test was over. The guy administering the test sounds like a dick.

dude, you totally deserved it, for even thinking your phone existed during that test. should have left it in the car/if it was your school, in your locker.

#43 & #76, This doesn't doesn't necessarily have to be fake. She could have mean that she THOUGHT it was on silent, and it was really on vibrate. Not to mention, some people do refer to the vibrate mode as the silent mode. And some people don't post fml's to "solidify their argument"; they simply just want to express their embarrassment or disappointment with other people. This FML sounds real enough to me. But OP, you are stupid. it does suck that you have to take the SAT again, but YDI

@#82 -- the test hadn't been collected yet, the poster could have been distributing test content/changing answers. huuuuuge deal.

Are you so damn addicted to your phone that you couldn't wait until the test ended to turn it on? So moronic. YDI for being incapable of following basic rules as a high schooler.

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?! YOU COULDN'T WAIT FOR LIKE FIVE MORE MINUTES ?!

You realize that you could've just denied that single vibrate and they would have no way of proving it. You're an idiot for letting them cancel your scores if that really happened. They're not allowed to ask you to take out your cell phone. You have rights.

YDI YOU HAVE TO TURN IT OFF FOREVER...see this is what's wrong with people, they can't stay off their phones for something that will get them so much further in life....I can't believe that you turned it on...once I read that i was you're stupid! At both of mine that I took, they took everyone's phone turned it off and returned it after everyone was done....Definitely the OP's fault

#88 has a point. and if you are a girl use something like "i really needed a pad and had to ask a friend out side of school to bring me some" it usually works. YDI though.

my school recently took the act's and for the whole week before they were saying that it was against the rules to even have your cell phone/ipod/anything electonical (except a calculator) with you and if they were found, even if off, your score would be cancelled the sat might be a little different, but i'm sure they have similar rules at least YDI for not being able to stay away from your phone an extra 5 minutes and not listening to the rules
