Today, I went to my dad, hoping to confess something to him. He quickly said that if I'd got my girlfriend pregnant, he'd kill me. That's exactly what happened. I had to make up a lie instead about stealing $50 from his wallet once as a kid, which he then demanded I pay back in full. FML

Today, I lied to my father. I told him I got money yesterday. In fact, I just got fired yesterday. I kept a really happy jolly voice when I spoke to him on the phone. FML
Today, I found out my dad stole money from me when he was arrested for buying Oxycodone from an undercover cop. FML
Today, my dad threatened to hit me if I didn't tell him what I had in my homework. He thinks I won't keep secrets from him this way. There's a reason I kept secrets in the first place. FML
Today, I had to go cap in hand to my father-in-law to ask for a loan so I could pay the mortgage, so now he thinks I’m a useless bum who can’t support my family. The truth is it was his daughter the gambler who wasted all our savings, but I can’t bring myself to upset him by telling him the truth. FML
Today, I invited my deadbeat dad over for dinner, hoping we could resolve our issues and build a proper relationship. Just minutes after he arrived, I caught him stealing money from my purse. He actually said I owe him for raising me. He ditched my mom and me when I was 5. FML
Today, while at home, I accidentally let out a big, loud fart near my dad. When he asked what the noise was, I blamed it on the cat. I remembered too late that we don't have a cat. My dad caught on quickly and grounded me for lying in front of him. FML
Today, I was using my dad's cell because I had broken mine. I was texting my boyfriend all day when my dad needed his phone back. I forgot to tell my boyfriend that my dad would be using the phone. My boyfriend then texted graphically what he wanted to do to my dad. FML
Today, I told my dad I couldn't make the trip to see him this weekend because I had to work. I surprised him by driving ten hours, and while he was out, I let myself in with my key and hid behind the couch for when he came in. He walked in. I jumped out. I then had to call 911. FML
Today, on my way to see my therapist, my father told me to lie to her and tell her that I'm happy so he wouldn't have to drive me there anymore. FML

You sound very young if you are still afraid of your father yelling at you, 100% you deserved it. Unfortunately this is F the babys life, it seems as though it will have 2 children for parents. If you dont feel you are prepared to raise this child please do the responsible thing and give it to a family who desprately want a baby and next time use a condom if this is still not an outcome you desire.

I am wondering why no one has brought up the option of abortion. This will sound really bitchy of me, but there are too many children being born and being left to the system for adoption that don't actually get adopted. It is sad the life that most of those children live through. What really needs to happen with OP is that he needs to get his girlfriend, her parents, and his parents all in one room and discuss the various options that they have and take the one best suited for everyone. That is the best way it can be dealt with, and the only way he can "man-up".

While I am myself 100% pro-choice and would absolutely raise abortion as an option here, no one else has yet because: 1) that will start a huge debate which will close down the comments section and 2) As 46 pointed out, it is absolutely the mother's decision, not OP's. If that what she decides, he needs to be a man and hold her hand before and after the procedure. If not, he needs to be a bigger man and step up to the plate. If she wants to put it up for adoption, he still needs to help her during the pregnancy. Either way, not his call.

I was very happy that no one had, because I don't think murder isn't an actual option. A baby is a person no matter what anyone tries to tell themselves. God says babies are a gift and he doesn't like you aborting something so precious. It's a sad day when you rebuke the gift, returning the soul to the sender. God help us.

#'s 49 and 46, you both make very valid points. It is very much the mother's choice, and all I was saying is that it is an option. My main point that I was trying to make was that all the patents, OP and his girlfriend needed to sit down and discuss all options. This is more about taking responsibility for one's actions. Not being able to talk to his father, OP has shown that he may not be ready for the responsibility of a new life. I only hope the mother receives the support she will need regardless of her choice.

I'd abort myself if the parents were not ready to take on this challenge or they have a realistic medical concern. I WAS a baby considered for abortion myself! My grandfather died at 3 months in, which stressed my mom almost into a miscarriage. My cousin got a girl pregnant and the grandmother refused to pay for an abortion or adopt it out. Kyle really hasn't had the best life as an unwanted kid. However, I don't know the age, resources, story, beliefs, etc to make the choice for her.

It costs at least $400 to abort. Hospital delivery is $8,000 and I'm sure you'll spend more than $400 on diapers, food, crib, etc. The $50 lie is just the icing here. I wonder what he has the money for. But if he's a man and not just a fertile dick he'll hold the hand of his girl and their child, or her decision to adopt out/abort.
