Today, I went through my 15 year old daughter's internet history. On google she searched 'Excuses to get away from your dad' and 5 other variations of the same thing. We were supposed to be having a father daughter day tomorrow. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I walked in on my 15-year-old daughter stripping on Skype for strangers. FML
We've all been there
Today, I looked through my daughter’s search history. Did I find porn? No, worse. At the age of 17, she has been looking up the definitions of commonly used words such as ‘arbitrary,’ ‘pretentious,’ and ‘initiative.’ FML
Today, I Googled my father, who I haven't seen in 3 years. The first website link was his obituary. When I confronted my mom about it, she said, "Oh, didn't I tell you?" and walked off. FML
Nostradamus
Today, I went to my phone company and had my text history pulled. Why? Because a few days ago, my four year-old daughter told me that, "Daddy has a wife and a girlfriend." Turns out she was right. FML
Today, my 15-year-old birth daughter asked if I've ever had sex. FML
Today, my daughter decided to come out to me by leaving a browser window open with the results page of an online "Are you lesbian?" quiz. FML
Today, my 17-year-old daughter has been sending and receiving videos and pictures of a sexual nature. I just had to wade through a ton of middle-aged dick pics as evidence for the police. FML
Today, I had to take my 15-year-old daughter to remove the handcuffs her father had placed on her as a joke. He didn't know they were real. FML
Classic
Today, I got called into the school by my daughter's teacher. Apparently my daughter informed her class that over the weekend she spent her time with her daddy watching porn stars while her mummy was at work. It took a long time to convince her they were actually watching a TV show called "Pawn Stars". FML
Privacy violation
Today, I asked my mom to help my daughter with Zoom school while I handled an emergency. When I got back, I found out my mom went through my laptop containing all my documents, my emails and even the journal my therapist suggested I keep. She says she was looking for a Zoom link. Yeah right. FML

YDI for snooping. Give her some space -- she's growing up. ...On the other hand, though, FYL because of what you found.

More like FHL for having you snoop through her history. I bet you've got plenty of stuff you wouldn't want her to see.

If a 15 year old needs that much space and privacy she could get the hell out of the house get a job and a mortgage and pay her own Internet bill. But then again I doubt too many of these teens today are willing to get off there asses to do that so I guess they have to suck it up till they move out or get kidnapped by an online predator. Which ever comes first.

I clicked YDI after the first sentence. My dad looks through my Internet history so I delete it and put a a scan on the history, so I go on sites that block off the scan(:

You have to be really really really retarded or desperate to fall for a online predator -.-

Next time don't go looking through her internet history...Give her a little privacy and you won't have to know about what she googles

FYL. I am a year older than her, and I would never do that to my parents. And YES parents DO have the right to check their underaged daughter's internet history. When I was in 5th and 6th grade, my parents would watch me while I was on the internet. Once they trusted that I wasn't a ho that would get raped or a psycho buying drugs, they gave me the space to do whatever I wanted, so long as they had the option to check my internet history. You shouldn't be doing anything that your parents would disapprove of. So long as you live under your parent's roof, you are, unfortunately, under their rule. I am so sick of the "I'M A TEENAGER, YOU CAN'T KEEP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO!" Sorry honey, but HELL YES THEY CAN.

I totally agree with you, and believe it or not, I am a teenager myself. (16, so one year older.) If I hear ONE more teen scream "YOU CAN'T KEEP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO!" I swear I WILL hall off and smack one upside the head.

Legally they do, doesn't mean it's right . Heh, my parents actually trust me so they wouldn't go through my internet history unless they had ridiculous evidence that I was doing something terrible or lost the brain function to not get stalked and raped. Yes, thanks for telling us all the obvious -_-.

Yeah, actually it is their right dumbass. You are under their roof and they can do whatever. Sure, my parents probs don't do that anymore, but if the father feels like his daughter's actions are questionable then he TOTALLY has the right and it IS right to do so.

You misunderstand, I'm saying they can but they shouldn't. he feels their actions are questionable? Ummm...that's a little too vague for me. Sure, if it's something extreme or your kid is a complete idiot who is constantly scammed then yes if you think she did anything check your history. BUt I really can't think of anyway to argue against the less extreme reasons for something so vague
pltcllyincorrect 0
Oh no I totally understood you the first time. You want me to spell it out for you? She constantly runs and hides whenever she gets calls from her friends. She never tells her father anything about who she's hanging out with and where. She has a boyfriend but offers no information about him. If the dad goes by her while she's on the computer she quickly closes all the screens and stares at him until he goes away. Basically, she could be off being a hoe or doing drugs and he has no clue 'cause he doesn't know what she's up to. I can't even count the amount of kids that did that sort of thing at my old public school. And I also remember how many of the girls I couldn't respect because of how they were off being slutty and of course, then I couldn't respect the guys either. That's why I think parents can AND SHOULD check their history.

Hmm, the only part of that paragraph that sounds suspicious to me is the one about her having a boyfriend and offering no information. If he met the BF then it's normal, if not then yes he should check anything he can that he thinks can provide information. Why the hell do you think he'd find out his daughter is being a **** (Which I don't really find objectionable unless she's having sex, in which case only because of her age) through her browser history though?

I'm sorry. And I can sympathize. To all those other assholes who are talking about you bitching and moaning, well they can go **** themselves, 'kay? :)

Well, I don't agree with most people on here. I'm a 15 year old girl, and my father doesn't want to see me anymore. My parents divorced because he was practically a petaphile and he doesn't want contact with me and my sister, even though we still do. I wish that he cared like you do, your heart is in the right place, and shes just wanting some space. You don't know what you've got until it's gone. But I just want you to know that your heart is in the right place, and that she doesn't know how lucky she is. Cherish having her as a daughter but also give her some space. I think it's awesome finding a father care like you do, it gives me hope that not all guys are bums (which is how I was raised).

I think it's awesome finding a father who cares* sorry, typo!
