Today, I stopped at a yellow light. The guy behind me did not. He had no insurance. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I stopped at a red light. I noticed the car in front of me had their reverse lights on. I thought to myself, "Meh, that person must know. They wouldn't do that." The light turned green. Turns out they didn't. Nor did they have insurance. FML
Moron
Today, some genius shot through a red light, hitting my car and nearly killing me. When I went to ask if he was okay, the first words out of his mouth were, "I hope you have insurance". FML
Today, I got rear ended. The guy flashed his lights at me to pull over, so I pulled into the side of the road. He drove away. FML
Today, I decided to be a good driver and not run through the yellow light. As soon as I stopped my car another came and rear-ended me. The guy told me to go in the parking lot so we can exchange information. So I drove into the parking lot, I turned my head and watched him drive away. FML
Today, I got rear-ended at a stop sign on a seldom used road in my neighborhood. As I open my car door to trade insurance information with the guy, he backs up a little and speeds away, taking my car door with him. FML
Today, I got into a car accident. The guy wouldn't give me his information, but instead stood there saying, "Like a good neighbor, Statefarm is there." FML
Today, while at a stop light, I was rear-ended by a car behind me. The guy got angry at me, because according to him, I should've known that his car has poor braking distance, and so I should've moved forward a few more feet to compensate. FML
Noooooooo!
Today, I stopped at a red light, when I noticed the car in front of me was in reverse. I honked at the driver, hoping he'd realize and place the car in drive. He thought the light turned green and immediately backed into me. FML
Today, I went to my insurance company to deal with some paperwork. One of their employees backed into my car before I made it into the building. FML
Today, I was driving to work and stopped at a stop light. A full 2 or 3 seconds passed, followed by a car rear-ending me. The idiot driving it got out and gave me hell, calling me a maniac because I braked "too quickly" and didn't give him a chance to react. FML

You completely deserve this. Yellow does not mean stop.

That sucks. And to all the people who say yellow doesn't mean stop, it's drivers like you that cause accidents that are usually fatal. Yellow means slow your ass down and prepare to stop, not blaze through it like an idiot. The OP did right, and the dumbass behind her shouldn't have been following so closely. Rear-ending someone is always that person's fault. And because he had no insurance, he's even more of a dumbass.

not true, if you can stop safely then do so, but theres need to stop to a screeching halt at the change of a yellow light THAT is how you cause accidents as well. as for going through a yellow or really ANYTHINGGGGG while youre driving, how about people pay attention? then there wont be so many accidents.

pretty sure the driver with the no insurance will have to pay for it out of his own pocket. I hate people that drive with no insurance. no insurance, no drive.

Like I said previously, you, and the others that think so need to check again. Here, Let me Google that for you. http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=What+does+a+yellow+traffic+light+mean%3F "Typically traffic lights consist of a set of three colored lights: red, amber and green. In a typical cycle, * Illumination of the green light allows traffic to proceed in the direction denoted, * Illumination of the amber light denoting if safe to, prepare to stop short of the intersection, and * Illumination of the red signal prohibits any traffic from proceeding." Im not saying this again.

What most of you don't get is that a lot of insurances only cover the OTHER driver. So in a perfect world, the other driver's insurance would pay OP. That's not so in this case. Now OP has to cover the cost of the damages, unless OP has insurance that covers both people.
