Today, my boss called me into his office. After yelling and firing me, his assistant comes in telling him he had mistaken me for someone else. He did not give me my job back, as he claimed it would make an awkward work environment. FML
Today, my boss fired me. I still can't really explain where the slap I gave him for it came from, though. FML
Today, my boss came into the office asked how I was doing and seemed totally normal and happy, then said, "I have to let you go. I heard some bad things about you." He wouldn't tell me what he heard, or from whom. FML

Today, my boss called me and asked why I haven't been showing up to work. I didn't show up because he fired me last week over the phone. Then he fired me again for not showing up to work. FML
Today, my boss found out I had applied for a much better paying job. He told me I'd do a better job and make more money there. Then he fired me. FML
Today, my boss fired me because I corrected him after he misspoke during a meeting. FML
Today, I received a phone call from my old boss asking me why I wasn't at work, to which I responded, "Because you fired me yesterday." He didn't say anything, and hung up. FML
Today, my boss finally pronounced my name correctly. My name was then followed by the words, "You're fired." FML
Today, my boss fired me by locking me out of my workplace after I went out to throw out the trash. FML

have none of you heard of at-will employment? in some states it is perfectly legal for an employer to fire you at any time for no reason at all. i got fired from one job because the president (who fired me) and vice-president (who hired me) were having a decades-long pissing contest. they gave me some bullshit about being too introverted when they knew damn well how introverted i was because they tested me before they hired me. OP - on the bright side, you can claim unemployment because you weren't fired due to misconduct. hell, half the time you can get unemployment even if you WERE fired for misconduct.
