Today, I heard someone try to get into my back garden. I ran to the front door, opened it, and shouted at whoever it was. I then saw a police officer appear, following the person who'd jumped my fence. I then realised I wasn't wearing any trousers. I'd shouted at the police half naked. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I got so drunk that I decided it was a good idea to get naked and jump on a trampoline in the back of a neighbour’s garden. Said neighbour is a police officer. FML
Today, I went to a party. Although I wasn't drinking, I was still afraid the cops would bust me. Halfway through the party, the cops showed up. I tried to hop a fence, ripping my pants and cutting my leg in the meantime. It wasn't until was on the ground that I found out there was a gate. FML
Today, someone knocked on my door. I yelled "Yeah?" while getting up, since it was locked. My grandpa walked in, as I apparently didn't actually lock it. I was naked. FML
Today, a stranger called me, saying I look hot in the bra I was wearing. When I hung up, thinking it was a joke, I opened the back door, and saw a man running away from my backyard. FML
Today, I was getting dressed in my bedroom with the blinds open and had nothing covering my top half. I thought my neighbours wouldn't be able to see in through all the trees, that was until I heard someone wolf whistle and one of my neighbours running away. FML
Today, I was at a party, and someone called the cops on us. I dove into a bush that turned out to have thorns. I got multiple cuts and a sprained wrist, and got arrested anyway. Its kind of hard to hide from the police when you're screaming in agony. FML
Today, I saw a man lying face down in a field and thinking he was injured, I ran over to help. As soon as I got to him, I realized he was completely naked. He stood up and chased after me. FML
Today, I woke up to a burglar holding a gun. He yelled at me to get up so I did. He then paused and laughed. I was sleeping naked. FML
Today, I called the police because I thought a burglar had broken into our house. I found out the strange noise was just my dog fucking about, so I smashed a small window and kicked down a door so I wouldn't be embarrassed. FML
Today, my husband thought it'd be funny to trigger the alarm in the house while I was sleeping. Shocked, I ran outside naked. FML

Not your fault really. Plus it gave you an excuse to yell at the police naked. Make the most of those opportunities when you have them.

There is most likely access to the back garden from the front of the house. OP probably thought they were stuck at the front gate or fence and went there to yell at them, only to find they'd already hopped the fence into he back garden and found a police officer in pursuit instead. It's really not that hard of a concept. Especially considering they said they were trying to get into their back garden, not that they already had.

My sister set off the house alarm one morning when she left for work (it was new), and I was woken up by someone coming into the house like 10 minutes later, so I walk out of my bedroom wrapped in a blanket in my underwear to find three policemen pointing guns at me. I just blurted out, "I'm not wearing pants," and tried not to cry.

That's how it's supposed to be. People do shit and police officers follow or even chase them to get them under arrest or such. In USA this guy would have been shot dead big time and you probably as well because police shoots for every random reason over there. "Shit this guy's got no pants on! must be a terrorist! I shoot him first and then check the situation!" So actually you're lucky for being in Europe!
