Today, my fiancé's parents visited. I keep chickens for their eggs, and his parents own a farm, so we had a connection. They told us to leave the house while they cooked us dinner. When we returned, we faced two steaming plates of chicken. My chickens. They had names. FML

Today, while I was staying at a farm for a few nights, I got really connected to a chicken I met. It was so tame and really cuddly. I legit loved it so much. Later on, we had chicken for dinner. It was the same chicken. He also had a name. FML
Today, my beloved pet chicken ran away from home. I got so distraught that my dad offered to buy me dinner. Specifically, KFC. FML
Today, my neighbors got a rooster. FML
Today, I got trapped in an elevator with a chicken. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I were cuddling after getting it on a few times. He holds my face in his hands, looks deep into my eyes and says "I smell chicken." FML
Today, my fiancé and I visited his family for dinner. The entire time I was there, his mother and sister had an in depth conversation about how attractive his ex girlfriends were and how they got along with them so well. FML
Today, it was my first time meeting my fiancé's parents. My future mother-in-law had cooked steak, hearing it was my favourite food. I somehow managed to bite my tongue, and then blurt out "Fuck!" just after she asked me how it was. FML
Today, I practiced my wedding vows in front of the mirror we have in the hallway. When I was done, I heard clapping from my living room. Turns out my fiancé’s parents had come over early for dinner and had heard everything. FML
Today, I was invited by my boyfriend's parents for dinner at their house. The dinner went well I thought, until I was getting ready to leave. Before I could make it out the front door, I could hear them discussing their disappointment that their son would ever consider someone like me. FML
Today, my husband gave our three-year-old son a lesson on life and death. He did this by slaughtering our pet chicken for dinner in front of him. My son has been crying for hours. FML

I don't get that. . . If you had a large number of chickens, I could understand. But they saw you only had two chickens, why kill them?

Am I the only one who doesn't think OP necessarily is a vegetarian? I know I'm not, but I could never ever eat an animal that I loved. As in a pet.

there are only 2 possibilities: 1 - they knew better, and killed your chickens on purpose, to send some kind of evil message or 2- they are extremely dim-witted. good luck in the future either way.

In all seriousness, that is just awful and I feel so incredibly sorry for you :( I would've screamed at them "why did you kill my beloved pets?" and then run off to cry somewhere. Why in hell did they think it was ok to kill YOUR chickens, even if you had gotten them to eat them later (which obviously wasn't the case)??? I hope you never let your future children stay at their place O___O

They're also for providing eggs, which is what the OP used them for. That's much more useful in the long run than using them for meat.

Look all you idiots, vegans don't eat animal products vegetarians don't eat animal meats, and so far I haw YET to read the OP saying they were vegetarians in the first place... The point was it was her pet chickens. ******* idiots, pets are pets, vegans are vegans and vegetarians are vegetarians. Also, it's possible the bfs parents played a practical joke and bought store chickens and hid theirs.
