Today, my fiancé's parents visited. I keep chickens for their eggs, and his parents own a farm, so we had a connection. They told us to leave the house while they cooked us dinner. When we returned, we faced two steaming plates of chicken. My chickens. They had names. FML

Today, while I was staying at a farm for a few nights, I got really connected to a chicken I met. It was so tame and really cuddly. I legit loved it so much. Later on, we had chicken for dinner. It was the same chicken. He also had a name. FML
Today, my beloved pet chicken ran away from home. I got so distraught that my dad offered to buy me dinner. Specifically, KFC. FML
Today, my neighbors got a rooster. FML
Today, I got trapped in an elevator with a chicken. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I were cuddling after getting it on a few times. He holds my face in his hands, looks deep into my eyes and says "I smell chicken." FML
Today, my fiancé and I visited his family for dinner. The entire time I was there, his mother and sister had an in depth conversation about how attractive his ex girlfriends were and how they got along with them so well. FML
Today, it was my first time meeting my fiancé's parents. My future mother-in-law had cooked steak, hearing it was my favourite food. I somehow managed to bite my tongue, and then blurt out "Fuck!" just after she asked me how it was. FML
Today, I practiced my wedding vows in front of the mirror we have in the hallway. When I was done, I heard clapping from my living room. Turns out my fiancé’s parents had come over early for dinner and had heard everything. FML
Today, I was invited by my boyfriend's parents for dinner at their house. The dinner went well I thought, until I was getting ready to leave. Before I could make it out the front door, I could hear them discussing their disappointment that their son would ever consider someone like me. FML
Today, my husband gave our three-year-old son a lesson on life and death. He did this by slaughtering our pet chicken for dinner in front of him. My son has been crying for hours. FML

Scream and look at the chickens. See which is missing, run back crying saying the poor gal's name. Say she was your favorite. Let the guilt unfold, kick them out if you must. Let their own guilt eat them alive. It's a good revenge; feels nice, too

Sounds like a great homemade dinner :) Fresh chicken is so much better. Though it takes quite a while to pluck a chicken, So in time they had enough time to kill the chicken, boil a huge pot of water, pluck the chicken, butcher it, and cook it? You must have left for a super long time.

Plus you usually don't butcher egg laying chickens. We buy giant Cornish chickens for butchering and isa brown laying hens for eggs. Extreme size difference.

As the proud owner of six egg-laying chickens, all with their own names, I can honestly say that this sucks and I totally feel for you OP! Our neighbor's dog (whom I later reported to animal control, who issued a stern warning) once attacked one of our chickens (we had seven before). $500 at the vet later, our chicken passed away under veterinary care that night before a specialist could see her. Our neighbor still denies any responsibility. After all of that, I still feel like OP's situation is/was worse!
