Actually though the boyfriend isn't completely wrong. A woman should pee after sex to get rid of the extra semen in her body to prevent yeast and bladder infections, among other reasons. (My Dr. told me this FYI.) It doesn't matter which hole, they both empty when you pee.

Even if you're on birth control, you really should just use condoms anyway unless you're allergic to latex, or get the polyurethane ones. The added secure feeling is nice, as its almost impossible to get pregnant. Also, you don't have to deal with semen dripping out of you!

Whether the pill or the condom is more effective depends on many factors, including how they're used. For example, are you taking the pills at the correct times? Are you wearing the condom properly? Sometimes when having sex a few times in the same night I realize I / her touched the condom with hands that had potentially had semen on them from earlier. And like the third time in my life that I had sex I was putting the condom on in the dark, and I couldn't see which side was the right way and tried to put it on the wrong way at first. I flipped it over and the next day realized I had pressed the outside of the condom of the head of my dick (and I had just finished having sex for the second time in my life just a half hour before that). I find it hard to believe that condoms are only 95% effective when used properly. I guess it depends on how you define effective. 95% effective to me sounds like they result in 0.05% as many pregnancies as no birth control. But if "effective" means preventing even a single sperm cell from getting through, then 95% makes sense.

Some people are on the pill for other reasons too though. Some types of birth control help regulate hormones and prevent really bad pain during your period. I guess you could use both in that case.
