That joke isn't funny anymore
Today, I told my husband that as I wasn't hungry, he had to cook for himself. He rang my Spanish stepmother as a joke to complain that I’m not wifey material. She showed up, whacked me with her Chancla, and browbeat me into cooking. He feels hella guilty, but he’s still a dead man once she leaves. FML

This is pretty funny, probably only going to work once, hope it was worth it.

Hey, don't blame him. He thought it was a joke, and he couldn't possibly knew your mother would react like that. He even felt guilty. If your mother is acting like a caricature of Hispanic mother, I guess there is some psychological, educational and sociological background explaining that, but to choose to go to your home just to act like that it's on her

Hopefully he learns a valuable lesson about not getting his mother involved.

At least you'll know what to put on his Dia de Los Muertos altar!
