Today, I got pulled over for going 85mph in a 60mph zone on a highway in the Everglades. There were cars passing both the cop and me as I was being pulled over. The cop decided I was easiest to catch since I was the slowest of the bunch even though the other cars were topping 100mph. FML

Today, I was pulled over and was given a $300 ticket for going 90mph on a 70mph highway. The cop swore he saw my silver car darting in and out of traffic. A couple of minutes earlier that exact car had passed me while I was following the speed limit. FML

Today, I was going 73 in a 55 on a country road when an oncoming cop passed me. He pulled a U turn. I turned off the main road and took random turns. I got lost, was 30 minutes late to work, and the cop still found me and gave me two tickets. I had to ask him for directions. FML

Today, being the new driver I am, I was trying to keep my speed at posted because I know that cops will target me. I ended up getting pulled over for my too-low speed and given a ticket because I was holding up a line of cars. FML

Today, I was tailgated by a car with his high beams on for an hour. Any time I changed my speed or lane, he would do the same. I finally managed to get away from him because a cop pulled me over and gave me a speeding ticket. FML

Today, I was pulled over by a motorcycle cop for speeding in a 25 MPH zone. As the cop was walking towards my car, I flicked my cig-bud out of my window. So, the cop did me the pleasure of writing me two tickets instead of one. FML

Today, I got a ticket for doing 38mph in a 45mph zone. Apparently you can be cited for "impeding traffic" even when you're the only car on the road. FML

Today, I was smoking while driving. A cop pulled me over and asked if I knew what I did wrong. I thought he could smell the tobacco, so I decided to just admit it. As it turns out, I was going well over the speed limit. FML

Today, the car in front of me was going slow and I flashed my lights and honked. I floored it and passed the car, flipping off the driver. Just as I went around the next corner I got pulled over by a motorcycle cop. A few seconds later, the guy I flipped off drove by honked and waved. FML

The biggest rule of speeding... GO THE SAME SPEED AS EVERYONE ELSE AND STAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PACK. If you do that there is almost no chance that you will be pulled over, cops watch the pack leader fly by and radio ahead so he gets pulled over, then the first cop pulls over the last person in the pack (aka the slowest).

going drastically slower than the rest of traffic is almost just as dangerous as speeding. the only difference is that it puts everyone's hazard in front of them where they're more likely to be looking. fail on the cop's part though... all that does is encourage people to speed. police cruisers are built fast for a reason. if i were a cop i'd totally go for the fastest one... a good car chase sounds like much more fun than writing up a lot of small scale speeding tickets. still... 40k over the speed limit...

FYL. Even though you were speeding too, the people here are right. Going 60 when others are going 100 can be even more dangerous than speeding. It's better to just go with the traffic in a situation like this, even if it is speeding.

YDI. Speeding is speeding. Just because other people were going faster than you doesn't make you any less guilty. I'm a native Floridian, and I live in a town that's overridden with senile, half-blind senior citizens who'll plow you over in the Publix parking lot. I've seen my fair share of terrible, ridiculous drivers. And I WISH that the cops here gave a shit, but they don't; people break nearly all the rules. And other people die for it. Your car is NOT a toy, so don't treat it like one.
