A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I drove three hours to go to an awards ceremony. When I got there, I had to wait an hour for the hall to open, then sat listening to speeches for two hours, got my "award", and drove three hours home. The award was a small pin that I already had. FML
Today, I missed my University entrance exam because of heavy traffic. I was stuck at one intersection for over an hour. The real kicker? It took me less than 10 minutes to drive home. FML
Today, I drove two and a half hours to a job interview. The interviewer never showed up or called. I sat in the hotel lobby waiting for an hour and a half. Even the hotel staff said they felt sorry for me. FML
Today, I waited patiently in the airport as my flight was repeatedly delayed. After 5 long hours I approached one of the attendees to discover that the plane had left 5 minutes ago. FML
Today, I got to sports practice 30 seconds late and got kicked out for "poor time management". FML
Today, I took part in a charity run for a good cause. I'd trained for months and showed up, only to trip and fall flat on my face at the starting line. I spent the rest of the race with scraped knees and a bruised ego. FML
Today, I dropped my daughter off at a concert where she was performing and went to look for parking. I got caught in freak traffic and it took me an hour to get back there. I missed her act. FML
Today, I entered my first professional fight as a mixed martial artist. It's been my dream to become a UFC champion one day. All I do is train and watch UFC fights all day. I was out cold in a matter of seconds. FML
Today, I competed in a Tae Kwon Do competition. I came third with my team in the sparring event. My mum said as a joke, "Were there only 3 teams?" There were. FML
Today, after months of looking forward to my new fencing lessons and speculating endlessly about the people who might be in my class, I went to my first lesson. I was the only one who showed up. FML

Damn 83, you beat me to it. But I'm learning Win Chun (the martial art used in Ip Man) right now, and it's insane! It's the only martial art I know that expects you to be relaxed while kicking someone's ass.

It all depends he could have fought a much more experienced person. Op could have had 10 fights while his opponent had 30. I had that experience with my first boxing tournament, I had 5 fights she had 15. I lost but hey it was a good experience and I learned a lot.

On any day any one can win, I know from my experience one bad choice can lead to a tap, everyone gets tapped out (not assuming this was a bjj tournament), but I would bet you won't make the same mistake again.
