Today, my mom found a pack of cigarettes in my pocket. She hates smoking, so she tore every single cigarette to pieces, then emptied a bag of kitty litter on them. On my bed. FML

Today, my mom found my pack of cigarettes. She's now making me go to rehab. I had only smoked one cigarette ever just to try it. I didn't even like it. FML
Today, I found cigarette butts at the bottom of the toaster. My mother has been dropping them in there for I don't know how long. FML
Today, my mom smoked pot in my sister's bedroom while I was at school. When I noticed the stench, she blamed the cat. FML
Today, my mom found my dad's hidden stash of cigarettes. He told her they were mine and now I have to spend two hours at therapy for my "smoking problem" every weekend. I've never smoked. FML
Today, my mom found my weed stash and went berserk, grounding me and saying she's going to have my bedroom door removed. Less than an hour later, I found her laughing and smoking the same stash with my dad in the backyard. FML
Today, I heard my mom sobbing in the bathroom. Concerned, I went in to see what was wrong. I found her sitting on the toilet, pants down and a cigarette between her fingers. When I asked what was going on, she looked up at me and slurred that we'd run out of "shit-wipes." FML
Today, my mom asked me to pull out the load of laundry she'd stuck in the dryer. Instead of clothes, I pulled out my dead cat. FML
Today, I caught my mom eating cat biscuits. We don't have a cat. FML
Today, while driving me to the hospital because I was having an asthma attack, my mother lit a cigarette. FML
Today, I found my mom throwing my very expensive and important medication down the toilet. She thought I was doing drugs. FML

Marijuana causes just as many respiratory problems. The whole, "Pot is better for you than cigarrettes," is an old wives tale. The only reason the stats are lower is because some people ingest it without smoking it. Fact is, it's still a mind altering substance that can cause problems. It does have some good medical applications, but that's of course for the people who aren't just abusing it. Smoking anything is bad for you. Period. That's why medical marijuana dispensaries offer a lot of edible alternatives.

Yea, but dumping kitty litter on the op's bed seems a little extreme! What my parents did was to tell me that if, " you have money to waste on smoking, you can also pay for your own car insurance, All of your schooling and pick up a utility bill" yeah, I decided it wasn't worth it...

So if someone comes into my house, it's OK for me to rip up anything of theirs just because I don't like it or agree? Somehow that kind of sounds, oh, I don't know, still against the law. You can't ruin someone elses property just because you disagree with it.

Well She said "lives with" not just "comes into" the house. If your living with your parents and they don't want you to smoke and don't allow it, then move out. If you are a minor and can't, then your mom has the right to tell you that you can't smoke and rip them up.
