Today, my girlfriend had someone else dump me via text message. I knew it wasn't her because for once I wasn't being viciously insulted, and it wasn't written as if an illiterate baboon had taken a shit all over her keypad. I can't even feel happy about being rid of her. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up me with for being the "perfect boyfriend". Apparently I'm the best boyfriend she's ever had, and she didn't know how to take it. So she dumped me. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me by putting a Post-it note on my locker that said, "Consider yourself dumped." FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me telling me I have problems communicating and that I didn't understand her. When I asked her why she didn't talk to me about this before she said "I didn't want to talk about it." FML

Today, my girlfriend who I love very deeply dumped me two times, over the phone. The first time was to dump me. She then called me back a couple hours later explicitly to dump our friendship. I was just friend dumped. FML

It means you are a projection of what she wants in a man (I.e.- father figure, loyal, etc.) but she just doesn't like certain characteristics you have. I've been in her shoes, you will find someone who is right for you some day.

sounds like my friend's reason! she liked the idea of him as a boyfriend but when he was around she didn't like him :P

Some women are more in love with the idea of love than actually feeling the emotion. She probably likes the whole concept of having a boyfriend and being together with someone - but if it's not fulfilling, best to move on. That's my take. I once dated a guy who was good from far, but far from good. I liked the idea of being his girlfriend, but it was so unsatisfying actually being in his presence.

She probably meant that she likes your personality, but doesn't feel the chemistry, only she said it in a somewhat cryptic and a very hilarious way. I'm sorry though, OP, I hope you're not taking it too hard. Getting dumped is tough.
