My heart goes out to you. Rest assured karma will catch up with him. To all of you who think she deserves this for sex out of wedlock: you should be ashamed. You don't know the intricacies of the situation; who are you to judge her? We all make mistakes. If your reasons for believing abstinence is the "right" path are religious then maybe you should stop being hypocritical, take a look at the rest of your doctrine, and extend some sympathy to her. You obviously have no clue what it is like to be pregnant because if you did you wouldn't be acting like a bunch of ignorant assholes. Also, just because a couple is married doesn't mean one of them can't just take off if they think the grass is greener. Marriage isn't some miracle institution that ensures people will love each other forever and ever. Rushing into marriage because you want to have sex with someone is just as irresponsible as having unprotected sex. Judging from some your comments that's exactly what you're suggesting. Aren't you against divorce too?

Shut up #10. If you ever get in a situation like this, I hope someone has a little more symathy for you than you have her. And I understand. But he's an idoit and the baby needs you. So forget him. This only means there is someone else out there better for you.

I can't believe how many people on here are being so judgmental. Are you all really telling us that you intend to marry someone without ever sleeping with them first? I think it's really foolish to marry someone without making sure you're sexually compatible first. Sex is not the most important thing in a marriage but it is definitely a big part. Not only that, it's a good idea to be with someone for several years before you marry them to make sure you're really compatible. Being in a serious, long-term relationship without ever having sex is almost impossible for anyone with a healthy sex drive. Birth control is not 100% effective. I know several couples who got pregnant while they were engaged. It's usually not that big of a deal if you're already committed to someone and are already planning the wedding. Sure the OP and her fiance could have become engaged only because of the pregnancy, but you have no way of knowing if that's the case. Good luck with assuming your life will always go according to plan, that's not how it works for 99% of us.

Really? That's odd that you think it's impossible, given that everyone in my immediate and extended family are very open about the fact they were virgins before marriage. Please don't say it's impossible -- it's not. Please don't say it's unwise -- it's not.

They said 'almost impossible', and, sure, your family wouldn't POSSIBLY lie to you, to try to encourage you to stay a virgin until marriage...? Yeah, it can happen, but any expert will tell you it isn't a good idea. Sex is healthy, it helps you get closer, relaxes you, helps you get to know the other- how do you know, before then, if your partner is selfish in bed, or giving? You might end up with someone who is totally self-absorbed sexually, and be miserable. Or someone who is secretly gay, and that's why they're willing to wait. It happens. I'm sure it can work out, but that isn't the way it typically works. Sex is a big part of bonding and relationships, and it's a natural, healthy, amazing thing.

#57 Have you ever perhaps considered you're just a racist prick? #66 I am so sure that she knew when she said yes to marrying him that she knew he was an idoit, but thank you for your input
