Today, my family and I ran into an older man my parents knew. He continually asked me questions like do you play football, have you started shaving yet, etc. I thought he was joking. He told my parents I had grown into quite a young man. I am a girl and he wasn't joking. FML

Same thing different taste
Today, one of my dad's work friends came over. As he was leaving, he complimented my dad on having three "strapping young boys." I informed him that I'm a girl, and I have a hormone imbalance that causes me to have a lot of hair and a deep voice. I guess my dress didn't give him a clue. FML
That's creepy, dude
Today, I'm 20 years-old and I was propositioned by a 42 year-old man, who turned out to be my dad's friend who helped care for me when I was 2 to 7 years-old. FML
My little boy
Today, I had to meet my mother. Being a college student, I decided I was too lazy to shave this morning. She noticed the stubble on my face, and started crying because I'm growing up. I'm 23 years-old. My dad yelled at me for making my mom cry. FML
Today, I brought a boy home for the first time, only to have my dad ask him what his mother's maiden name was. When he answered, my dad exclaimed, "Oh yeah! I think I dated her in high school. I could be your father!" FML
DILF
Today, an internet repair tech thought my dad was my husband, and seemed skeptical when I corrected him. People usually think I'm way younger than my actual age. FML
Today, I went bowling with my parents. This cute guy works there and he always flirts with me. My mom just so happened to see it today. As we left, she says to him, "You know she's 13, right?" I'm 17. FML
Today, I noticed that my facial hair had grown by an acceptable amount. I spoke to my Dad and decided to show him, thinking he would approve of my manliness. His exact words when I showed him were, "Nah, son. You just look like a lesbian." FML
Cougar
Today, a cute new guy I always run into at work hit on me. Turns out he's only 18. I'm old enough to be his mom. FML
Today, I asked my boyfriend if he was growing a mustache, as he had whiskers. He looked at me and said "No, but apparently you are." FML
You happened
Today, my 11-year-old son and I were going through some old photos. He saw one of me when I was 22 on a beach, wearing a bikini. He said "Wow! Who's that?" Quite proudly I said it was me. He looked at me and said "What happened?" FML

perhaps the old man's wrinkles have shrouded his vision (if its not already bad enough) or maybe you had a cap/hood on? and there's nothing wrong with liking Twilight...but obsessing over the fictional characters is taking it too far. -A person who enjoyed reading the book.

Maybe he was senile and your parents played along as not to upset him.

You deserve it for being ugly.

Not a FML, not even close. Maybe if your parents forced you into an arranged marriage with him.

In middle school, I had a friend who had really short hair (she was a girl) and wore baggy jeans and t-shirts. One time, she was out with her parents and a waiter asked what their "son" would like to drink. After that, she grew out her hair, wore slightly tighter jeans, and more feminine t-shirts. And never again was she mistaken for a boy. Moral of the story? Relax, it's probably just because you don't dress in a feminine way or you have shirt hair. A few simple can change that.

I've been mistaken for a male also. Mainly because I had a pixie cut, wore sweatshirts a lot, and I have a boy's name (not a nickname, it's my real name). I haven't decided to become completely self-conscious about my body's look or started dressing like some loser woman from the fifties by wearing my hair in a ponytail, caking makeup on my face and wearing skirts like fat kids eat cake like these idiots have recommended. Please, just tell the old man you've been banging his husband for the past four weeks like nobody's business. There is no need to change yourself, all you have to do is clear up the situation with some classic offensive sarcasm.

Been there. It's always great when people mistake your gender, and even better when you have to correct them.
