Today, I had to meet my mother. Being a college student, I decided I was too lazy to shave this morning. She noticed the stubble on my face, and started crying because I'm growing up. I'm 23 years-old. My dad yelled at me for making my mom cry. FML

Today, my mom told me that I need to shave my beard because it's getting too long. This wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that I'm a woman. FML
Today, I shaved my face after several months of growth. This would be OK if my 4-year-old daughter would still talk to me. Apparently she doesn't recognise me, and I'm scary. FML
Today, I noticed that my facial hair had grown by an acceptable amount. I spoke to my Dad and decided to show him, thinking he would approve of my manliness. His exact words when I showed him were, "Nah, son. You just look like a lesbian." FML
Today, I had to come to terms with having more facial hair than my boyfriend, despite being female since birth. FML
Today, my mom walked in on me shaving the tops of my legs. She called me a freak, since apparently women aren’t even supposed to grow hair there. FML
Today, I walked in on my mother using a razor to shave my dad's cream-covered testicles. FML
Today, I was crying after having argued with my boyfriend. My mom saw me, she asked, "Why are you crying? Don't you have homework to do?" FML
Today, in front of my friends, my mom came after me with a pair of tweezers exclaiming, "There's just a couple of hairs on your chin that need to be plucked." I'm a 14 year-old girl. FML
Today, my mother looked me dead in the face and said, "I have failed as a parent." FML
Today, I got an electric razor and a lesson from my dad on how to shave my mustache and chin. I also got my period. FML

23 is a little late to be noticing facial hair on a man. My guess is that your face was as smooth as a baby's butt through high school and in your early 20's, and your mom thought you were her little girl. She's crying over the pain and expense you are going to have to endure to have electrolysis so you can still be her daughter.

Let's agree that it's both =) My mom cries whenever my sister talks about moving away for school. And she cries about me growing up, even though I'm 19 and live extremely(NOT EVEN A QUARTER MILE) from them. ^^ But she told me on my last birthday, that she was sad, because that meant she was about to turn a year older herself. Same on my sister's birthday

My mom acts like that towards me too, just because I'm quite a bit taller than her now, and she wonders where her little girl went. lmao But hopefully she'll accept that you're growing up, soon enough.
