Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my eight-year-old microwaved our thermometer to see if the temperature would change. FML
Today, my seven-year-old son put a spider in the microwave. Animal cruelty? No. The goal was to irradiate it, then get it to bite him so that he would become Spider-Man. FML
Today, I was looking after a hamster for a friend. My dog ate it. FML
Today, my husband was using the microwave when we suddenly hear a huge 'POP'. The good news is we found our daughter's missing hamster. FML
Leftovers
Today, my daughter brought home her class hamster for the weekend. It escaped and we spent hours searching for it. We later found it in the fridge, eating our leftover pizza. I never knew hamsters had such a refined palate. FML
Soon.
Today, I listened to my mom having a conversation with my dog, asking him if he ate my hamster. My hamster isn't even dead. FML
Today, my 5-year-old son put my car keys in the microwave thinking that they would 'warm up' my car. FML
Poor little guy
Today, I showed my family my new pet hamster. At the sight of him, my grandmother, who I had no idea hated rodents, let out a loud screech, causing my usually docile hamster to bite me and piss in my cupped hand. FML
Today, my hamster gave birth. The babies were very cute and I couldn't resist petting one. Apparently touching a baby hamster will cause it's mother to reject and devour it. I am now know in my family as "The Hamster Slaughterer." FML
Boom!
Today, while I was in the shower, my 4 year-old son wondered what would happen if he put 6 eggs in the microwave. FML

My sisters friend did that to a bird once. She though the bird was cold and wanted to warm him up. Maybe your son was thinking the same thing?

When my brother was about 8 (about 23 years ago), as well, he went to get something out of the deep freeze. He had his hamster on his shoulder and when he got upstairs started panicking when he realized his hamster was gone. So after quick reasoning, he ran downstairs and found him in the deep freeze. He was so worried that his poor hamster was freezing that he put him in the microwave to warm him up. He watched him until his head started bobbing up and down and his eyes started bulging out if his head. He again panicked realizing his mistake and pulled him out in a hurry. The hamster ended up living another month, but ended up eating it's own feet and going insane. Poor creature. My point however, is that, however vicious it seems, it was a little boy trying to help his hamster, with his ignorance it ended up very bad, but I am glad he learnt his lesson that way rather than by putting his baby brother in the oven to warm him up. My older brother turned out just fine in spite of this event. I hope your son had healing at his heart rather than malice.

That made me cry. That poor hamster. Has no one heard of using blankets?! Kids need to be taught how a microwave functions. It doesn't merely "heat things up".
