Today, I was reading erotic literature and noticed several errors in syntax, resulting in my mood being killed. I was cockblocked by my need for grammatical correctness. FML

A big turn-off is the unexpected period.

Don't forget the improper use of colons!

Oh god I have so been there!! I feel your pain, OP.

oh god, same. I can't deal with poorly written sex, the secondhand embarrassment is too distracting.

You know what "kills" my mood? People who use quotes for any word that is not strictly "literal", or in this case, common usage but just a bit "saucy". Or even to "emphasize" a particular word. That's annoying like "hell". It's the written equivalent of a "funny" uncle winking at you and poking you in the ribs while telling a "knock knock" joke.

I used to work for Harlequin romances during college summer break. During lunch break we used to count the spelling and grammar errors on one page. It was typically between 3-8. Those books are basically **** for illiterate women.
